I want to take up Neutralisation
of Anger
exercise for today.

Lessons learnt from the
workshop – Neutralisation of Anger
1.       It is realised by all, that Anger is a vile
emotion that works havoc with individuals and even nations.
2.       Anger puts up blood-pressure, strains the
heart-muscles and interferes with the secretion of gastric juices.
3.       A great deal of life-energy is squandered
when a man gets into Anger and that is the reason why he feels fagged out after
an outburst. And yet, and yet, man slips into the grip of Anger again and again
all through his life.
4.       Anger, or for that matter, any other
emotion, overpowers man only when he is in a state of forgetfulness.
5.       Awareness and emotion are mutually
exclusive.
6.       Whenever and wherever you forget your
Soul-Consciousness, there emotion comes.
7.       Emotion does not come from outside.
8.       You yourself get transformed into emotions
when you are intoxicated by sensual activities.

9.       Anger
Brought Home
– Your
Anger which was ineffective at your work spot, for the very practical reason
that it was directed against persons stronger than you, is now being ventilated
on your dependants who have to put up with it. This conduct of yours, when
persisted in, becomes a dreadful habit and a pathological problem.
10.   Have you ever paused to visualise what all
happen when Anger works within you? Let me itemise:
1.      
Your
eyes get congested;
2.      
Your
blood-pressure shoots up;
3.      
Your
nerves are strained and hence your trembling and incoherence;
4.      
You
forget yourself, which means you lost your awareness;
5.      
Your
life-energy is getting depleted;
6.      
Your
body is susceptible to a variety of ailments;
7.      
Your
mind is registered with harmful emotional habits; and finally
8.      
You are
hated psychologically by your family-members and friends.

11.  
Anger is the worst enemy of mankind.
12.   Unless you neutralise Anger, you cannot get
peace and happiness at any time.

13.   Life-energy
Wasted
– Having
realised that Anger is a pernicious emotion that never did any good to anyone
at any time, what should you do next? You should not get Anger under any
circumstances. Is this possible and if so how?
14.   A man to whom Anger has become a habit,
loses happiness in all spheres of life – in all fields of endeavour. Temper
alienates you from your own parents, wife, kith and kin and friends.
15.   No-one will be inclined to talk freely to
you; no-one will make bold to point out your mistakes, with the result your
flaws will go on increasing. What will be the ultimate outcome?
16.   Misery, problems and pain.
17.   Peace and happiness would be absent in your
life.

18.  
Tackle At Source – Remember, suppression of Anger is a far
cry from Avoidance of Anger.
19.  
Anger
harms you long before it hurts the other person and Anger has to be pre-empted.
20.  
You
must train yourself not to get Angry at all.
21.  
Remember
also that futile or unspent Anger becomes worry or grief that can take one to
suicide even.
22.  
It
would be clear to you that Anger has to be neutralised at the source itself.
When you succeed in this, see how the mind comes to tranquillity and how well
your Meditation progresses.
23.  
Wrong
thoughts and evil deeds have their source and origin only in emotions. When you
train yourself out of emotions one by one, your spiritual progress will be
steady and calmness would become an integral part of your culture and
personality.
24.  
This
transformation would make your life happy and successful.
25.  
Yoga
is actually a way of life for reducing tension and wrong concepts in the mind
and taking you close to the Truth and finally getting communion with the Truth.
26.  
The
state of Truth is Absoluteness.
27.  
If
you want to make yourself divinised, if you want to make yourself a peaceful
and happy person, you have got to eradicate the emotions. Among the emotions,
the most evil one is Anger.
28.  
Keep
yourself in awareness and your inner calm will hold.
29.  
Does
not a drama-artiste display anger when the script calls for it?
30.  
How
realistic is his pose, but is there any trace of Anger in his heart?
31.  
You
can also adopt such a method efficiently in order to perform your duties
successfully.
32.  
What
a fine life this, when I have neutralised Anger! Happiness is mine and peace
too!
