Eckhart Tolle answers to Dealing With Anger,
Resistance And Pessimism! – Today’s Video

Lessons learnt
from the video:-
·
Genesis of Anger
o
Anger is a normal and healthy human emotion that
can propel us into action. It can also get out of control and become
destructive, ruining personal relationships and taking away our quality of
life.
o
Anger throw our best practices away (Spiritual
stuff does not work)
o
Increases Pessimism
o
It is not going to work anyway
o
We have to hell with it.
o
I feel like something is wrong and I need to
take some action to correct something (probably imaginary and it is not real,
there is no action needed)
o
Predominant thought to do something about it…
o
Heart beat very strongly
o
Feel powerlessness
o
Deep pessimism
·
Suggestions
o
Feeling that something is wrong that’s not a
personal problem of yours. It’s a universal human condition that to carry that
feeling inside that something is wrong
o
The mind looks for what can I do about this or looks
ways the thing that’s wrong
o
Then misinterpret situations so anger comes
o
When anger comes of course the energy field of
it immediately flows into your mind
o
The thoughts that you then think are reflections
of the anger, the anger makes you think certain thoughts
o
Acknowledge that the heart is beating and let
that be.
o
See if you can have an awareness it’s not easy
with anger because it comes so suddenly
o
Awareness not only that there’s the energy of
anger flowing through you but also perhaps that the energy of anger which may
be old anger that has lived in you for a long time (pain body)
o
Pain body which can easily then rise into your
mind and control your thoughts
o
Able to be stay aware while it happens and
recognise anger as an expression of the pain body
o
You can stay aware as the observer or the
witness of those thoughts and of the energy field of anger
o
Stay present depends on how much presence there
is already in you
o
How much presence power that is already in you.
o
Energy field is helpful for drawing that out of
you
o
Once you are there as the witness then changes
begin to happen
o
You don’t even have to do anything
o
Witness is simply to witness to be aware of the
energy so that you don’t become completely identified with it.
o
Witness consciousness
o
Witness your nervousness ,heart beating
o
Witness allows everything to be as it is
o
A deeper dimension in you
o
Ability to simply see it
o
Change the old patterns
o
More awareness comes in the more the old
patterns will change
o
You do not have to change yourself because
that’s complicated. Many people try to do that I have to change myself but the
most powerful the real change comes with becoming aware of whatever is
happening inside you so that the anger is no longer you.
o
Anger is anger. You are the awareness. You know
it. You see it. You feel it.
o
Decisive shift from being the anger to having
the anger in your energy field and observing it.
o
It’s a wonderful shift so use anger as your
spiritual practice
o
If you fail, anger will immediately say you see
you failed again, you cannot do it…that is the anger speaking – there is
something wrong with you.
o
You may
be surprised to know that there are millions , billions of people on the planet
who have that same sort pattern there is something wrong with me. It’s part of
the human ego
o
First if you can catch the anger the first
moment it comes, may it could that thought before it becomes to fully-blown
anger
o
Anger is like an explosive
o
You may only have three seconds, it may come
very quickly
o
You may have only 2,3,4,5 secs to bring.
o
Stay there with your awareness and feel that it
is coming
o
Catch it at the early stage don’t suppress it,
catch it
o
Be thankful for your anger.
o
Anger can become a very important spiritual
practice for you.
o
You don’t need to believe in every thought that
arises.
o
Thought that comes from anger, not the truth.
It’s a distortion
o
The painbody gets amplified by the ego
o
According to Tolle, the painbody lives in human
beings and comes from the ego:
o
“When the ego is amplified by the emotion of the
painbody, the ego has enormous strength still – particularly at those times. It
requires very great presence so that you can be there as the space also for
your painbody, when it arises.”
o
You need to create space inside yourself for the
painbody, and then remove yourself from that space. Be present with yourself,
and look at the situation from a detached place.
o
“If you are present, the painbody cannot feed
anymore on your thoughts, or on other people’s reactions. You can simply
observe it, and be the witness, be the space for it. Then gradually, its energy
will decrease.”
o
By understanding the painbody and how to accept
your experience in the present moment, you’ll be much better able to deal with
anger and live a much better life.
