days Personal Transformation Journey

We are in Episode 97. Count down has started in our 100 days journey.

இந்த
YouTube channel லை வாழ வைக்கும் தெய்வங்களாகிய எல்லா
ஹீரோயின்களுக்கும், ஹீரோக்களுக்கும்
வணக்கம்.

As we have completed all the 7 Habits of Stephen Covey, I want take up “Greatness Series” to address other best behaviours, habits, simplifying tools, good books, Videos, TED Talks and resources.

In EP-63 (EP-63 – உறவுகள் மேம்பட The Social / Emotional Dimension - Sharpen the Saw - Habit-7 – Zero to
Hero - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zfm17GPnPU), we spoke about the importance of
relationship as a part of Habit7-Sharpen the Saw.. In addition to Stephen
Covey’s view point, I want to include Psychiatrist’s viewpoint to have holistic
view of relationship.

This is an Uravugal Week (உறவுகள்
வாரம்
). Today is the last
episode in Uravugal.

Today’s topic is Devotion (பக்தி). Whole credit goes to Dr. Rudhran. Mine
effort is a small trailer to his chapter. Everyone should read, understand and
follow it to have clarity in relationship with devotion (பக்தி). It is in our hands.

Lessons learnt from the book(Courtesy Dr. Ruthran’s Uravugal Book):-
·
பக்தி is a very peculiar relationship.
·
It
requires obsessive attachment, close affinity, surrendering oneself completely,
faith and trust.
·
There is
an underlying expectation, desire in all devotion.
·
There
are some intelligent businessman turned Gurus try to exploit people in the name
of God.
·
Expression
of devotion falls in 3 categories.
o
Devotee
– Basis of love
o
Seeker –
basis of respect
o
Ardent
follower – combination of awe and fear
·
Devotees
like Meera, Andal expressed unconditional love towards their God. There is also
an expectation to merge with God. Vast majority of us may not fall into this
category as this is very rare in our practical modern life. Expectation in devotion
is fair.
·
Seeker
o
To be
successful and address our failures and forego our mistakes, we seek the help
of God.
o
We
generally seek God to lean in during turbulent times and at the time of
distress.
o
Trust
is the foundation for devotion.
o
God is
Sakthi (Energy/Consciousness/Nature).
o
Truth,
faithful, awareness in a seeker see God in one own self.
o
With
effort and initiative, anyone can seek God in own self. You do not need to be a
Saint or Siddhar. Anyone can experience it.
o
Complete
faith in God, Trust on God that he does not abandon us gives rejuvenated
confidence to our life activities with confidence and enthusiasm which eventually
leads to results.
o
Following
Rituals is not devotion to God. It is not devotion.
·
As devotion
has wide social acceptance, a lot of intelligent gurus follow business strategies
to claim themselves with Godman’s status
·
To
reach minister, we give gifts to his/her assistants; ardent follower loses his self-respect
and his intelligence in front of Godman.
·
Ardent
follower is no different from fans, devoted party followers as he loses himself
in the process.
·
Relationship
with God is always very private, special in bringing the inner divine force to
elevate one’s self.
·
Everyone
should put efforts for their own personal growth. There is no short cut in it.
·
It is
very difficult if one has completely surrenders in blind faith and ignorance. It
grows in leaps and bounds. It is very difficult to get out of the trap.
·
There
is no separate need for God if one respects in others with love, care and
affection with humanity.
·
People
with self-confidence, follow humanistic approach, showing interest and learning
from life see God in themselves. They do not follow any manly God’s.
·
People
who are with low esteem, confidence, who do not trust themselves and others
fall in the trap of Manly Gods.

Let us understand the trap
and understand this relationship with clarity so that we can focus our efforts,
time in shaping us as Heroes and Heroines by seeking God in us.
