EP-42 - ஆனந்த யாழை – Happy Children’s day - Think Win-Win (Habit 4) – Z...

எல்லா ஹீரோக்களுக்கும் ஹீரோயின் களுக்கும் வணக்கம்.

Theme for the week (from
today till next Friday (15th Nov)) – Think Win-Win (Courtesy:
Stephen Covey).

As it is children’s
day, I just want to touch upon 5 nuggets (முத்துக்கள்)

1.     Self confidence
·
If you want to give one thing to your children,
empower their confidence. In fact, this is our first episode – EP-1 Self Belief
/ Self-confidence  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6KWOW8rqfk)

2.
Trust – Emotional Bank Account
·
Whoever they are, whatever stage they are in,
have a paramount of trust on them.
·
Mother/Father becomes their no.1 enemy.

3.
Do not compare with other kids. Accept them as
they are. Make them specialist in one thing.
·
I am not worried about top 3 winners of Super
Singer. I am worried about the remaining 97% and their trauma they go through.
They are not failures in life. Accept them and empower them.
·
Treat male and female kids equally at home.
Generally parent flaws that I see is, we tend to give more preference to male
child and boost their ego

4.
No command/control – Think win –win (EP-41).
Have win-win scripting at home.

5.
Make them specialist, not generalist
·
I see child’s weekend schedule is busier than
Sundar Pitchi’s schedule.
·
Instant gratification vs delayed gratification.
10,000 Hours of investment in any one particular thing.
·
Picasso example.
A little story about the great artist
…….Picasso

There is an interesting story
about how Pablo Picasso, the famous Spanish artist, developed the ability to
produce remarkable work in just minutes.
As the story goes, Picasso was
walking though the market one day when a woman spotted him. She stopped the
artist, pulled out a piece of paper and said, “Mr. Picasso, I am a fan of your
work. Please, could you do a little drawing for me?”
Picasso smiled and quickly drew a
small, but beautiful piece of art on the paper. Then, he handed the paper back
to her saying, “That will be one million dollars.”
“But Mr. Picasso,” the woman
said. “It only took you thirty seconds to draw this little masterpiece.”
“My good woman,” Picasso said,
“It took me thirty years to draw that masterpiece in thirty seconds.”
Picasso isn’t the only brilliant
creative who worked for decades to master his craft. His journey is typical of
many creative geniuses. Even people of considerable talent rarely produce
incredible work before decades of practice.
